  20. CARNAGE.EXE : The executable for the game
  21. SETUP.EXE   : Configures your Soundboard and/or Joystick
  22. CONFIG.DAT  : Configuration File
  23. HIGH.SCR    : Highscore List
  24. BACKUP.DAT  : "Clean" backup copy of CONFIG.DAT
  25. BACKUP.SCR  : "Clean" backup copy of HIGH.SCR
  26. RESET.BAT   : Restores the highscore list
  27. README.1ST  : This File
  28. RESOURCE.X  : X=1..7.  Data

  31.                             System Requirements

  34. Operation Carnage requires:
  35.  
  36. - A 386DX or above. We "strongly" recommend a 486 for optimum gameplay.
  37. - 530k conventional memory free (565k if you wish to have Music)
  38. - 1.5Mbyte free XMS memory. (1.9Mbyte free XMS if you wish to have Music)
  39. - DOS 5.0 or later. We recommend not running Carnage from Windows 3.1, 
  40.   although there have been no problems starting it from within Windows 95 as 
  41.   a DOS application.
  42. - Approx. 4 Mbyte free Hard Drive space for this demo.

  49. We strongly recommend playing the game with enough free memory for Music.

  52.                        How to Set up Operation: Carnage
  53. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  55. Run CARNAGE.EXE to play Operation Carnage.
  56.  
  57. There is no need to run SETUP.EXE first. Operation Carnage has a powerful 
  58. sound auto-detection program built in, which will attempt to configure your 
  59. sound card parameters automatically for you. 
  60.  
  61. Should Operation Carnage not detect your sound card correctly, or even crash 
  62. when you attempt to run it, run SETUP.EXE. You will then be able to input 
  63. your sound card parameters manually. If this fails, or if you do not have a  
  64. compatible sound card, select the 'No Sound' option from within SETUP.EXE.
  65.  
  66. Note to Gravis Ultrasound users: Operation Carnage does not support the 
  67. Gravis card directly, however you should be able to gain sound support by 
  68. activating SBOS first. Consult your Gravis Ultrasound manual for more 
  69. information on this Soundblaster emulation.

  71. To reset the configuration to the standard 'auto-detect' pattern, simply
  72. copy the 'BACKUP.DAT' file over the current 'CONFIG.DAT' file.
